Re: Does anything else really matter?

This is 6 years old now but I really wasn’t aware people did this sort of thing. https://slate.com/news-and-politics/2014/07/rolling-coal-conservatives-who-show-their-annoyance-with-liberals-obama-and-the-epa-by-blowing-black-smoke-from-their-trucks.html Way to melt your pistons and valves Cletus. ...

Are you planning to leave if Trump wins again? Or do you feel you have a duty to keep the sanity level up, if only by one person's-worth? Where the fuck am I going to go? I am from a single parent family, with that parent living in Oz, I don't own any property back home (which is a total rip off pr...

Americans are conditioned to be terrified of any meaningful change that might benefit society as a whole. This pandemic has made it very clear that universal health care is needed in this country, for example, but anyone suggesting it gets shouted down as a raging rabid socialist, if not an actual ...

Re: Trump

Fucking hell. Committing to reducing the debt. He had record added debt even before the pandemic hit. Tax cuts and spunking on his fence. "He's made China or Japan pay our farmers billions of dollars". No cloth ears, you are paying for the tarriffs and your taxes have bailed out the farmer...

Re: COVID19

Excuse my ignorance but what’s the difference? Here, the cases are records, the deaths are low single figures, and excess deaths are non existent. The measures are worse than the actual virus here. Don't follow you, sorry. Case = virus positive and symptomatic to the point of disease that needs tre...

Re: COVID19

I don't trust shit coming from the government here. They are actively hamstringing scientists and physicians with the CDC. There is officially no Federal safety net here anymore, and that is quite some achievement. https://stm.sciencemag.org/content/early/2020/09/03/scitranslmed.abe5793.full I see ...

Re: All Blacks Squad to play... someone at some point this year, probably

The argument being made is that it would provide a significant economic opportunity for the regions that would host the teams, but I'm not sure how much of an argument can be made when there's no fan contingent either. We also saw similar voices having a massive whinge while they angrily shit their...

Re: All Blacks Squad to play... someone at some point this year, probably

Yeah, that's messy. School re-openings in USandA have been almost universally punctuated by inevitable new clusters. I'm not liking the carbon copy resistance to public health initiatives that seem to be springing up in NZ. Social media fueled conspiracy. I think if everybody is clear in a team, the...

Just a little acknowledgment of 9/11. I remember that surreal day very well and am compelled to point out the sane and compassionate response of the public to this, at least here in Philly, that was really humbling for this then recent immigrant. I had no Telly in my shyte little apartment then so g...

As I understand it, that was a factor in them declining. Their border closure would not have allowed non-Japan based personnel to get together beforehand. Japanese health system has its eye on priority.

Re: Autumn Tests

It's a shame Japan will not have a crack at the the 6N teams, but I think they are sensible in prioritising their own public health. I'd love to have seen them scalp a team or two.
