Re: Transfer news, fake news, baseless speculation, and various levels of truthiness - Season 2019/20

Sinckler will replace Afoa, surely?

Think the squad might get trimmed. Currently Bris have 47 players in their senior squad, some i dont think have played much, if at all, this season.

I think Madigan is going and i'm sure there's a few others who will likely be off too.

Re: Sale vs Exeter Sunday 3.15 pm

Exe not at their best but a win keeps them on course for a QF spot. Failing to score a single point in the final 50 minutes is really quite a poor return. In a game where few players stood out and some definitely under performed, i thought LCD was very good.

Re: Ulster v Quins Sat 3.15

Hugely frustrating to lose by giving away a dull penalty. Quins did a lot right today and will be kicking themselves for not closing out the game.
Dombrandt did make the odd error, but was overall mightily effective. Sinckler and Marler were both very good.

Fraid so. Bit of a reality check.

Leinster were a step up in class and far too good.

Yep. They were worth a lead at h/t and were well in it until conceding 3 tries in about 10 minutes. Clermont showed their quality but Bath fell away quite badly.

On the plus side, Will Stuart is continuing to look the part.

Northampton v Leinster Sat 1pm

Game of the weekend for me. Be fascinating to see if Saints can impose their game on Leinster. Saints: Tuala; Collins, Proctor, Hutchinson, Naiyaravoro; Biggar, Reinach; Waller (cc), Haywood, Painter; Moon, Ratuniyarawa; Wood, Gibson, Harrison (cc). Replacements: van Vuuren, van Wyk, Hill, Coles, Lu...

Saracens have to make Prem survival their priority so its understandable they will rest players for Europe. Still a good side even without a number of England players.

Swinson is no scum bag. I'd take her ahead of Johnson and Corbyn in a heartbeat, but its fair to say that she and the LibDem campaign havent struck the chords that i thought they would do.

The most impressive leader has been Adam Price of Plaid Cymru.

Lewis is a 5/6. Not sure what his best position is and where he might end up.

Good for Steward. A lot of good judges rate this lad highly.

Re: Saints vs Tigers

[At Quins, Care and Smith are without question our best halfbacks, but IMO, they don’t bring the best out of each other. Care effectively runs the show and we play a lot off 9 so Smith’s ability to run the game is limited which means he often tries to force miracle plays when he does get the ball. ...

Been very impressed with O'Flaherty this season. He seems to have come on a lot and is playing with a real dash.
We're not short of wingers but his form does warrant a close look from England.

Re: Bristol v London Irish, Sunday game

Bristol get a try BP too.
They will be disappointed with that. Playing against 14 for the 2nd half and just edging ahead towards the end only to give up a penalty which tied the scores.
Irish proving they are going to be resilient opponents this season.

Re: Saints vs Tigers

Saints were very impressive. There is a fluidity and pace about their attacking play that is really pleasing to watch. I thought Furbank looked all class, and I think Grayson is showing signs of developing into a top player. The Saints back row were all excellent. Massive credit to the side in adapt...

Re: Bath v Saracens

Farrell was perfectly decent. It wasnt a night for an all court virtuoso display, but he and his team mates did enough to bag the points without too much drama. Bath disappointing again. Hooper has to be given some time, but a squad as good as this should be better, notwithstanding the long injury l...

Having their WC players back is a big boost for Tigers but Saints are playing well at the moment that it makes a home win hard to bet against.
Scrum could be a key factor.

Johnson is a lightweight. He can't even handle a simple news conference or deal efficiently with mild questioning from tv news reporters.
Its no surprise he will want to keep scrutiny to an absolute minimum.
