Re: Scots Abroad VIII (or let's spot the new messiah)

Strauss is in the Stade Français starting XV at Bordeaux on Saturday.
No Dunbar for Brive. Concussion precautions, maybe.

Is Luke Hamilton still with Edinburgh? Did he get many games last season?

So Howler's off to Italy!?

Just read that Rob Howley will replace Conor O'Shea as head coach of Italy.
Any rumours/confirmation from your side of the bridge?

Re: Scots Abroad VIII (or let's spot the new messiah)

S H-C is again on the bench for Racing in tonight's Top14 match in Toulouse for whom Richie Gray will also be on the bench.
Alex Dunbar has been retained in the Brive starting XV in this afternoon's tough match at home to Clermont.

So do I. Picamoles, whose better days are behind him, can consider himself to be rather lucky to have been selected.

And he scored his side's only try in a 10-16 loss.

Sam Hidalgo-Clyne is on the Racing bench now at home to Castres (currently 17-0 to Racing)

He's clearly weighed up the pros and cons and has made his decision - the correct one in my opinion.
Having said that, he'll be sorely missed, but maybe he'll be available to play in the semis and the final in the event of an emergency!

Re: Way too early RWC Squad

Richie Gray is in Toulouse’s starting XV at Bordeaux in the opening weekend of the Top14. It’s an evening kickoff so Townsend will be able to keep an eye on a player who should be on the plane to Japan.

Jones’s reasons for playing Billy: “To get Billy fit we have to play him. If there were ten bacon rolls he’d eat ten, so we’ve got to get him to play.” Billy is so much more like Deano than Dallagio :) Ah! Deano and the good ol’ days. He was indestructible- can anyone remember him getting injured?!

Only four changes in the French starting XV. -Ramos, Guirado, Lambert and Iturria. I wonder how many changes Townsend will make? The Scots in France will surely play, Laidlaw and Russell, and maybe a surprise guest appearance of big Richie! What’s Richie done to upset Townsend? Has he rogered his m...

Re: Way too early RWC Squad

Apologies to Barclay, as I posted earlier that he didn’t seem match fit. With a bang on the head of that force, I’m surprised he was still on the pitch. If the citing committee do their job then Gabrillagues won’t be on the plane to Japan

Imagine being arrogant enough to think Richie Gray isn't good enough for this rabble.

Do you seriously believe that Townsend thinks that?

France aren’t exactly spoiled for choice for captain and Guirado’s leadership has been questioned a few times. I think your rating of no2 in the world is a tad generous ! Re: Way too early RWC Squad

Some inter selections, particularly Ollivon and Cros on the flanks. Camille Chat is worthy of his place and in my opinion, should be first choice ahead of Guirado. A well rested and firing on all cylinders guirado is 2nd only to coles in the world - total leader for france who aren't big on leaders...

If Ford has a blinder on Saturday he’ll surely have cemented his place as England’s best fly half, so where will that leave captain Farrell, as it seems to me that he’ll have his work cut out to make the first choice XV as a centre?
