Re: 6 Nations 2020

Slightly off topic but what happens if the Italy England game gets called off due to the coronavirus? Osprey and Ulster games have been called off on 29th Feb and we play over there two weeks later. https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/rugby-union/51615577 The match could be postponed. Weren't some matches ...

Re: Team news for Ireland.

Just another high hit on itoje from ryan. He will definitely get banned for the france game (which is annoying as we want ireland to win that [/b]). Oh no we don't! I was thinking how it always seem to work out that way with bans. I'm not sure I could support Ireland against France under any circum...

Re: Team for France

Cheers, Numbers!
I'd rather not think about the Grand Slam for the moment. Murrayfield on Sunday the 8th is to be won first and thenI'll begin thinking about Ireland the following Saturday (for which I have a ticket!!)

Re: Team for France

That was a very good game with a bit of needle and one or two controversial referee's decisions (I'm persuaded that Willemse was committed to the tackle and not attempting to intercept!) What was all the handbags about after the final whistle? I had guests but chose to ignore them and watched the ga...

Re: Team news for Ireland.

Let’s face it, England were fortunate to win. Two lucky tries caused by Irish ineptitude; far too many penalties conceded that other sides would have punished. If Eddie had picked a more balanced side then the victory margin would have been significantly more. However, let’s not grumble too much unt...

Re: 6 Nations 2020

I’m far from convinced that Willemse’s “attempt at interception” was deliberate. From what I remember, and my memory is rather clouded due to excessive intake of Scottish medication, he had both arms prepared to flatten the Welsh player. Perhaps other posters can confirm my point of view, or otherwi...

Re: Team for France

Just about deserved that. I was worried defending the 4 point lead but it seems to me that the French can play the full 80 now instead of packing up after 60. Now for Murrayfield!

Wasn't it a Friday announcement when we played on Sunday in the first round?

I forgot it’s a Sunday match!

Re: Team for France

The probable French starting XV is: 15. Bouthier ; 14. Thomas, 13. Vakatawa, 12. Vincent, 11. Fickou ; 10. Ntamack, 9. Dupont ; 7. Ollivon (cap.), 8. Alldritt, 6. Cros ; 5. Willemse, 4. Le Roux ; 3. Haouas, 2. Marchand, 1. Baille. Racing hooker, Camille Chat, will probably be on the bench. Both team...

True, although he's hopeful to be fit for the Edinburgh match on March 8th.
For Wales, there's talk of Fickou on the wing with Vincent and Vakatawa playing centre.

Re: Team for France

Damien Penaud and Camille Chat’s names are in the squad for Cardiff although they are still not training. I remain hopeful that they can resume training in the next day or so, because it’d be a real boost to our chances of winning. If fit, Penaud would undoubtedly be in the starting XV with Chat on ...

My first match at WR this season and far from perfect, but the second half performance of the Tigers’ forwards was very good and the win was well deserved. Tigers got stuck in and got four points! All is far from lost !

Sadly, Arthur Vincent's name can be taken away from this group of players, but who will replace him, especially as Penaud must also be a serious doubt?

I could'nt properly watch the game, but as very often against italy we were not consistent...wich is worrying Coz it shows our old demons are still here lying deep... Re: Team for France

Sadly, it appears that Damien Penaud may not be fit for Cardiff, and to compound the problem, his replacement for the first two matches, Vincent Rattez, suffered a broken leg against Italy. In that case, I wonder if Galthié will call up either Maxime Médard or Yoann Huget.
