As I said on the 6 nations thread it's a good opportunity to try out Lane, Evans and McNicholl, Liam also misses the start of the tournament, Anscombe is out for the whole tournament.

6 Nations

Well it's looking like we will be without a fair few players for the 6 nations, currently the following will be unavailable for at least some of the tournament: Liam Williams (at least the start) John Davies (whole tournament) Gareth Anscombe (whole tournament) Rhys Patchell (at least the start) I s...

Re: Pro 14

Yeah. Just two tries with 500+ meters and the Cheetahs missing 30+ tackles was a meager haul. I thought they looked good in the backs with Tovey at 10 and Evans at 12, expansive, I'm wondering where Matthew Morgan is going to fit in when they have Amos, Adams and Lane back, perhaps on the bench as ...

Turns out I spoke to soon on this, he's on short term loan until the end of Nov I believe, we could do with another decent second row as Cummings is quite limited imo.

Re: Good TV Shows

His Dark Materials - This is great telly, I haven't read the books mind you so not sure exactly how accurate it is.

The End of the Fucking World - Second series, if you liked the first one you'll enjoy this one, dark comedy.

A good performance from Canelo on Saturday night, it was a very close fight until he KO'd Kovalev in the 11th quite brutally.

Re: Pro 14

The standard of refereeing in the PRO14 is really not good. It’s really disappointing when it’s a safety issue that has caused umpteen red cards (rightly IMO) at the RWC that is then practically ignored in the domestic game. Yeah, the amount of neck rolls and high tackles going unpunished over the ...

Re: Post RWC

I’d definitely want to see Dee and Watkin moving into the starting squad, even if the players they replace are on the bench for the time being. Ditto Patchell a d Tomos Williams. I’m thinking that for the first six nations game, we might look a bit like this (injuries notwithstanding) Wyn Jones Dee...

Re: Post RWC

I think Jarrod Evans is the future for us at 10, Patchell is more attacking than Biggar but he doesn't threaten the gainline like Evans does, we could have Patchell at 12 perhaps as a 2nd 5/8 which would play into a more expansive style.

Re: Post RWC

Agreed Players Id like to see a slow introduction of players rather than a complete changing, but I would phase out Owens, AWJ, and maybe a few others sooner rather than later. Some because we have players that could step in, and others because if we dont start exposing some of them now, they are n...

Re: 3rd place playoff

He'll learn that at Saracens though. Good move for his development, IMO. Puja How much game time do you think he'll get? Not a massive amount initially, but it'll force him to improve. There are a good 15-20 starts per season available with Mako needing rest and international weekends (although it ...

To go back on topic I've always thought of him as a decent bloke, no edge to him at all and your best winger imo.

As far as Wales are concerned, he is behind Wyn Jones and Rob Evans but he can push both of he keeps on being so good with ball in...

Re: 3rd place playoff

Carre always makes an extra foot in the tackle. This boy is going to be good. The only area of weakness is his scrummaging, he struggled at club level with the Blues last season, his ball carrying and tackling are very good tho and we desperately need carriers. He'll learn that at Saracens though. ...

I’ve at last got over my agonising disappointment of Sunday. Water under the bridge now so it’s onwards and upwards! This is an interesting selection forced by injuries. Let’s hope the youngsters, Amos, Lane, Watkin, Patchell and Tomas Williams step up to the plate and produce a little fizz. This i...
