Re: Tonga

The no.8 situation is a predictable selectorial cock up imo. Still not sure what Eddie’s first choice XV is in its entirety. Who are our first (and numbered) choice back three, centers, stand off, flankers? Guessing at Eddie’s first XV it looks like: 1.Mako 2.George 3.Sinkler 4.Itoje 5.Kruis 6.? 7....

Re: top 100 players

Do we have to give EJ some credit for helping to turn players who are there or there abouts into world class players? 3 years ago I'm not sure I'd have said that Mako was best 1 in the world, Sinck one of the best 3, May one of the best wingers, or George one of the best hookers (And other than Bil...

Re: top 100 players

Well the other thing is that a ‘World XV’ doesn’t need to be balanced like a real team. I went for Furlong as I think he’s a better foil for Mako and for Whitelock over other players who are arguably better on account of his partnership with Retallick, but I don’t imagine that many people are looki...

Re: top 100 players

At 12 possibly, but we have Crotty, Laumape, SBW, ALB, and I'd have any of them over Farrell. Farrell isn't exactly a play making 12 in the mold of an Aaron Mauger or anything. I don't see the leadership in him either. He's too much a chippy prick. I just don't get building a team around him. He do...

Re: Cipriani on the reserve list

I still maintain Cipriani loses a lot of his utility if he's not in a team that's built around him though, so I can see Eddie's point that, if he's not starting, there's no place for him. Puja This creates a lot of issues in itself - see Billy in 2016 & 2017 before we had other carriers to call...

So had I, but I got into a big stoner/doom mood a few months back and was listening to their latest album a bit.

Try some Wo Fat on for size, then have a main course of Beastwars.

I'll check them out, thanks.

Wilson looked to the manor born once he got the shirt. It just isn't up for debate, unless you're Eddie.

DC Sound Attack DJs like a mad c***t. Eh? He's referencing ancient antipodean pop culture. This was sort of a proto-meme from the dark ages when we had to make them manually: http://i.imgur.com/CyknJ.jpg EDIT: If you don't know who John Howard is, he was PM of Australia 1996-2007 (i.e. 7 Aussie PM'...

Re: DC Sound Attack

Got a bit of sympathy for Care as Heinz has come from nowhere to claim a spot. But it has been plain for a while that he wasnt really in Jones's plans so its hardly a bombshell he wasnt selected. Think that Robson and Spencer can feel more aggrieved as they were given virtually no game time to stak...

Typhoon season lasts into October, with accompanying humidity levels. It'll be greasy

Presumably everyone will kick more as a result. I hope Daly is training four hours a day on nothing but bombs

Re: Tonga

Put out the strongest available XV, and repeat right through. We need momentum not flawed excuses for a poor performance. I want to see little Fordy holding the golden goblet above his head, not a 2 page spread by SCW on how Eddie’s ‘fiddling’ let down the Ice Man Not really possible. The games aga...

Re: Next up, Ireland

27/28 is nuts unless you're going to stretch the tournament over three months. It completely ignores player welfare in the modern game. Strong emphasis on 'the modern game' as I suspect you're overlooking that element. Meh, with 4-6 years notice they can get players to cover more roles. How many mi...

Re: Minute-by-minute - England vs Ireland

Thing is, when you're 30? yards out, and centre of the pitch, unless you're desperate for the 3, you are in theory in prime attacking position, even if off slow ball. Of more interest to use than some teams. We need to get going on phase 1, if we're prosaic by phase 3 we're basically kicking it awa...

Maybe it's just that the misses stick out more, but I'm with Puja and don't feel confident in either of them nailing a DG, even without the pressure of a WC Final

Re: Minute-by-minute - England vs Ireland

Just listening to the BBC rugby thing (https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/p07ls69r) and them all fawning over Farrell (obviously) but they briefly mentioned the man you want sat in the pocket to slot a drop goal. Who do we actually want to use in that situation if Farrell and Ford are both on the pi...

You don't even get a free article anymore? I used to use my free article to just read Charlie Morgan... Well I'm not subscribed so I think you do. Not sure when their week starts and ends though.
