Re: Cips piece in the telegraph

"For me, right now, all I can focus on is how I can become better for my experience with England, and not just as a rugby player – as a leader and as a person, too. Eddie has said that everyone needs to be ready and the best way to do that is for me to be the best version of myself at Glouceste...

Cips piece in the telegraph

Blatantly lifted from shedweb as I don’t subscribe to the ‘graph, important thing for me is the inference he is still into Gloucester, not looking elsewhere as has been suggested. If you put all of your emphasis on an outcome, or invest all of your happiness on the decision of someone else, you are ...

Re: New Kits

Have you just nicked some old Wigan kits? And indeed an Ulster kit of not so long ago.... I've clearly exorcised that design from memory, and hope to remain happily oblivious to it. Though I'm a grumpy old man and would broadly have the new kit designer fired each season before they design anything...

Mixed reactions in shedweb. I don’t mind it personally, cherry and white hoops is all I really require.....

Season ticket prices

Quite surprised at a) how cheap Tigers are, b) how very expensive Sarries are relatively (double the lower end)

Exeter pricey too.

Re: Transfer news, fake news, baseless speculation, and various levels of truthiness - Season 2019/20

Northampton have added JJ Tonks and Tommy Mathews to the senior academy from Glos. From the Saints site they appear to be a flanker and a fly half, any Glos fans got any opinions on their potential? Not seen either enough to give you a thorough synopsis, Tonks the better known, pretty dynamic from ...

Re: Euro Cup Draws

Very happy with that, Glaws avoid Sarries and Leinster and second prem club in the pool. 3 good away venues :D You'll enjoy coming down here GK! It's easy too -daily Easyjet flights from Bristol. I might even make the trip to Kingsholm if the date's right! Already on it, flights look good! Think th...

Re: Back row forwards who might have expected more England caps?

TBH, Ben Morgan should probably be on this list. Eddie has mostly ignored him in favour of lesser players IMO. He could (and should) have picked another 10-15 caps over the past few years. I'm a fan of Morgan. His stock is high at the moment as Glaws have had a good season - and he contributes mass...

Re: Crusaders to change image.

Sale and Exeter took their nicknames in 1999, long before plans to crack America; but, yeah, I’m not sure what Lions have to do with Gloucester or Bears with Bristol. I’m not saying it’s a good or bad idea. Personally I think it’s unachievable regardless of branding. That said, show your research t...

Re: Crusaders to change image.

PRL are hoping to ‘crack’ America. That is the whole reason behind the new nicknames. As I said previously, what americans are looking for from england is history and authenticity. It's pound shop plastic bullshit trying to associate sharks with manchester or native americans with exeter. Sale and ...

Re: Transfer information, speculation, fabrication, and figments of imagination - Season 2018/19

We need 13 cover for sure, been lacking there for a while and not sure how many more games Trinder has left in him. So it’s good business, 36 played the most minutes out of our entire squad last season, an injury to him would have put a different complexion on the season, we were lucky really.

I’ll chuck Django (James Forester) into that mix too, awesome 8, had bags of pace and tore Saints to pieces in his last final at Twickenham. A real shame his playing career was cut short.

Not really ‘transfer’ but Stephen Vaughan is leaving Glos. I think he’s been a superb CEO and has made huge progress over his 5 years. Tough shoes to fill.

Re: Transfer information, speculation, fabrication, and figments of imagination - Season 2018/19

Gareth Evans leaves Glos to join Ospreys, Henry Purdy also leaving, destination not yet known (by me anyway) Purdy is good enough to stay in the Premiership IMO. Maybe not going to be a first choice, but a good squad player. Interesting to see Mullis let go. I thought he looked good at U20 level. P...
