Wow, that's a sh*tty run of luck. What's happened to Taufua after two weeks of being unusually on the bench? Has he decided to use this opportunity to get surgery done?

Re: 3 England back row changes?

To be tier 1, you've got to be a powerful scary carrier in your own right. Sink doesn't tend to do that by himself, when he has one other option next to him, to spread the defense a little, then absolutely, it's why I've put him in 2 and not 1. When I look at the pack for carrying, my primary focus...

Re: Form since lockdown, and the run-in

Bristol have 2 easy games but have to play on 26 Sep (ECC), 30 Sep and 4 Oct. I expect them to go for it against Bordeaux and hope their 2nds can beat Tigers. Bristol didn't fare well at Welford Road back in January when Tigers beat them 31-18 and grabbed an increasingly rare TBP. It will be a seco...

Re: 3 England back row changes?

For sure Lawes will also have his detractors, around mobility, decision making and technical ruck skills and even physically getting down to a ruck height and his carrying. But there are plenty of supporters of Lawes who think he's now an excellent carrying option, even if it's not always a scintil...

Re: 3 England back row changes?

I’ve never thought Lawes to be an especially good or strong carrier. Punches below his weight if anything. Seconded. If anything, I'd rate him as the weakest of our second rows at carrying - he still seems to go upright and get stopped on the gainline. Puja For sure Lawes will also have his detract...

Re: 3 England back row changes?

Earl might be one to keep an eye on. 'tis possible much of his carrying looking okay so far has come from being part of an above cap pack. But if that's really his level he might be the strong carrier in the group, though Lawes will have his advocates I’ve never thought Lawes to be an especially go...

Re: 3 England back row changes?

If we drop Billy, and I'm a little split on this as he still looks like he should be our most valuable player, we could go for a back row that looks to support more than it looks to carry, but it probably depends on who partners Itoje, if we lose a little carrying at #8 I'd want to add that back in...

Re: 3 England back row changes?

Not to mention being in fantastic form ... For some reason jngf has got a real thing about dropping Curry for no logical reason whatsoever. He also keeps banging on about this mythical back row of 6. Underhill 7. Wilson 8. Curry that I’m pretty certain never took the field. Scrumhead you really nee...

Banahan did turn in some pretty creditable performances for Bath at full-back, if I recall correctly. I wouldn't expect him to be a weakness there.

Re: West Country Derby - Bath vs. Gloucester - Tuesday 22nd, 5.30

Strange having this one fixture out on it’s own, with the other 5 games being played next week. I would assume it was due to being between two European weekends when neither team is playing, but the same is true for Quins vs Wasps and they're not playing till Monday. Seems like a bit of an unfair a...

Yes, maybe a little heavy handed with expect a win. Expect a performance and to push them all the way definitely. The team need to start laying down some markers for next season. It's fine using the remaining league games as pre season but we've targeted Europe so that's where we need to show what ...

Useful knowledge. Will Ardern need a coalition partner this time? Looking from the outside, she seems to be a top leader and I'm not sure why anyone would be voting for someone else given the success she's made of her COVID response.

Well, yes. Go for it by all means - frankly why wouldnt you? But Tigers are 11th in the League for reason. Re: 3 England back row changes?

The big debate for me is whether Billy warrants being picked. I didn’t see today’s game, but based upon his form since the restart, I’m really not convinced that he deserves a place in the squad. Maybe a kick up the backside would do him some good? I would say that Billy's a long way down the list ...

Its so difficult to play both sides that virtually no one has done it then? It's perfectly possible to be able to play on both sides. Plenty have done it and Bristol have 2 guys who have done it this season for instance. Its not exactly the same, as pressure comes at you from different directions a...
