Re: Leicester vs London Irish (Friday)

Irish actually played more rugby for me in that game. Also have a little sympathy with at least the first Irish card, he doesn’t move, stands his ground with quite bent knees and gets headbutted in the shoulder by the tigers player. Yes it’s head contact yes he could probably have gone lower, yes b...

Re: Leicester vs London Irish (Friday)

Good result for Leicester - Irish thoroughly flattered by the scoreboard and we should be disappointed (for the second week in a row) not to have got the try bonus point. Gods, JVP is such a promising talent. That replay of him embarrassing Rona and then delivering the perfect pop for Murimurivalu t...

Indeed he was, although you'd think he probably has higher ambitions.

Re: EPS Watch / Player Form Thread

For all the rumours that Louis Lynagh is declaring for Australia, he has just signed a "long term" contract extension with Quins, ruling him out of Australian and into English contention for the foreseeable. He's a very promising young player, so I wouldn't be surprised if we made a few ph...

Re: Leicester vs London Irish (Friday)

BBC article actually claims, "Leicester make eight changes as they name a near full-strength side for the visit of London Irish." It is to laugh. Quite apart from our England contingent and the banned pair of Wiese and Liebenberg, there's no Nadolo or Montoya and Muri's on the bench. I'm a...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pW2UFVPfCA Fascinating watch and backs up my initial impressions - that our attack looked pretty handy (and that Ben Youngs is underestimated by the board and Tom Curry by one particular poster - his ruck clearouts in that video were a thing of beauty and gave Young...

For reference - I was simply having a chuckle at the incredulity that the RFU had not sacked Jones after his second defeat. People on this board are allowed to repeat opinions ad nauseam if they like.

Re: We need to talk about Eddie...

:D :D :D OK, what happens if we then lose to Ireland as well? I just can't believe Jones is still in the job after the two defeats so far. Nobody sees it as a major crisis so I was just wondering what is!!!! Just to clarify, you can't believe that the RFU have not already summarily dismissed their ...

Re: I can see why you might roll your eyes...

Unforfunately, in the last five years, politicians have learned that being "forced to resign" doesn't actually exist and probably never did. Doesn't matter how bad the thing you did was, if you stand there and just brazenly refuse to acknowledge any calls for your resignation, there's not ...

Re: EPS Watch / Player Form Thread

The next England video is on Youtube, more and more there's clips of Curry helping players out, explaining things etc. Wonder if he's in captain consideration. Leads from the front, extremely good player, always in the thick of it and able to be in the ref's ear. Guaranteed starter when fit I'd sup...

Good to see our academy products are helping raise the standard of the Australian competition. It's actually a really good move for a couple of players that haven't kicked on and I'm pleased with those loans. Wonder if SAR will be the next announced?

Re: Transfer news, fake news, baseless speculation, and various levels of truthiness - Season 2019/20

Mercer saying on the rugby pod he’s heard nothing from Eddie since 2018 and nothing about his departure/return from France/Montpellier. Seems a bit weird, no? Tbh, he's announced it mid-6N. I'd be surprised if Eddie was looking to do any player management on players not in the immediate EPS convers...

Ryan off to Champ rugby avec the mighty Bedford Blues, on loan. Difficult to not think that Jordan’s got the rough end of the stick on this one. :D bravo very good. Puja, Borthwick's comments after the move was announced makes it sound like he sees a future for him at Tigers. I think Owolfela's con...

Olowofela off to Soup Rugby avec the mighty Western Force, on loan Which Olowofela? There's two. ETA. Googled it myself and it's Jordan. Excellent news - he looked very promising when he broke through, but then buckled under the weight of being a first choice so often so young for O'Connor's strugg...

Re: v Wales

Robson one suspects just gets very nervous. Whether he'd be better for starting, whether it's England, whether he'll get over it generally are all up for debate. If Robson does pay it'd perhaps be for Randall which might not upset anyone but the Robson family, and he would be gutted Randall's out i...

Re: v Wales

Anyone rewatched? From memory only, our attack actually seemed to take us forward fairly well, with screw-ups and pens really ruining us? That was my memory too - it was actually the best our attack had gone since 2019, with hard aggressive forward runners and quick ruck ball stressing the defence....

Re: We need to talk about Eddie...

Much as I agree that Daly cannot continue at FB, I really feel Jones is guilty of destroying him. Turning a world class winger into a poor international FB is not what a quality head coach would ever do. All along, there were better alternatives. The experiment was a long-winded, nonsensical failur...

Re: We need to talk about Eddie...

We can fiddle about all we want, but there are a small handful of selection changes mooted that are serious options, and ones that revolve round and round. All irrelevent whilst conceding 13+ penalties a game, most of which are unforced and give sides easy territory and points. I agree. Most of the...

Re: We need to talk about Eddie...

Daly doesn't have a defence after turning his back on Hardy, not much you can say about that. The balls lost forwards were in contact, were they man and ball or just not looking after the ball enough? The non pass for the try my impression was from where he took the ball he didn't have much of a ch...
